Buzz & Bumble! are you ready for Spring!

This layout is made with the NEW Buzz & Bumble Workshop on the Go kit that will be available on Feb 1st. I like this kit so much I couldn't wait to share it with you!
Sometimes you will have papers that match your photos perfectly. I have a friend who dresses her kids in matching outfits for photo shoots. But my nephews, well lets just say there will always be one kid in red, and one with a ballcap & one with no shoes! These papers are perfect for the beautiful, wonderful, sunny day we were sharing and the backyard setting. On the journaling tags I typed the boys names, ages, school and something about each kid. This is the special kind of journaling that tells the boys stories as the years go by.
Each photo is mounted on 2 layers of cardstock & each piece of cardstock has the edges sanded so there is a white frame. The sentiments & flowers are stamped with the CTMH pigment inks. These inks have a rich color and dry quickly and give an amazing look to your stamping.
When I stamped the page title I mounted each stamp on a separate block and stamped the title one letter at a time for perfect spacing. I sanded the edges of the cardstock the title is stamped on so you see the same white edge.
The Workshop on the Go kit contains the papers & cardstock, the stamp set, the tan bling gems & the bumble bee accents. The title is stamped with the Hero Alphabet stamp set E1022.

Ribbon Banner!

This banner was actually inspired when I realized how much red and white ribbon I had that I didn't use at Christmas time! and the fact that one of my few resolutions / goals for 2013 is to reduce my ribbon collection!
I wanted to create something with texture that would be easy and quick to put together. These are the things I gathered to create my banner.
I cut pennant shapes with the Cricut Artist cartridge that would fold over the white bakers twine to hang on the banner. Then I used the grid stamp from the Noted Backgrounds stamp set, stamped with Versa Mark then heat embossed with black embossing powder. I used tombow adhesive to secure the folded pennants to the bakers twine, then I added black button brads. The red hearts were cut and stamped and sponged with cranberry ink. If you make one of these banners you can cut your pennants any size and use as many ribbon ties between banners as you like for the size and length you want. I cut all of the pennants at 2", remember the Cricut is measuring the width, not the length!

There are several keys on the Artiste cartridge that would work well for this project.
You will find the shapes I used on the following keys:
Merry Christmas Key
X Key
6 Key
3 Key
Stamp sets used are D1412 Noted Backgrounds & Whooo's Your Valentine
