Black & Tan

This is a small pocket notebook I've decorated. This is one of the gifts I exchanged with friends at Convention. The notebook is covered with paper from the Always pack. Then I cut 3 inch circles on the Cricut from Champagne cardstock, I cut the circles in half and scored each one at eight inch intervals, there are flecks of the Champagne color in the black B&T paper so this was an easy choice . The letters are punched out and  attached with glue dots but you could use pop dots too. Add a couple Artisan Studs and your notebook is finished.
Items used:
X7165B Always paper
D1481 Vintage Type stamp set
X5931 Champagne cardstock
Z1816 Artisan Studs
Z2105 Black Ink

Here are a few close ups

UPDATE!!!

Paper Flowers

Paper flowers are so easy to make when you use your Cricut and the Art Philosophy cartridge. For the project I'm making I need the flowers to be small so I've cut some at 2.5 inches and some at 1.5 inches. With the quilling tool it's really easy to assemble the flowers. To finish your flowers put some liquid glass on the flower base and arrange the petals. The Liquid Glass dries pretty quick. I also add some Liquid Glass in the center of the finished flower so I can add a pearl or sparkle.
If you'd like to see my finished project check back here on Saturday. I am off to the annual Close to My Heart Convention being held @ Walt Disney World in Orlando! My finished project will be submitted to the Silent Auction for Operation Write Home so I need to keep it secret for a few more days!

Just put your gift card in one of the large paper pouches & tie with some Baker's Twine.

Ribbon Tip!

I hate when ribbon won't stay wound on the spool! I also use a lot of glue dots in my crafting. The glue dots are packaged on wax paper type strips. So as I use my glue dots I have strips of this wax paper that I can wrap around my ribbon spools! Apply a piece of Scotch Tape to the wax paper strip and your ribbons won't come unwound anymore!

Banner Mini Album!

This cute mini album was made using 4 pennants from the FREE banner, the Dream Pop papers, the Chantilly papers and the Girls Rock stamp set. Cutting the papers at 4" with the Cricut and the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge gives you the perfect size to cover the chipboard. Here's a look inside!
I have a limited number of kits available if you'd like to create this album yourself. Kits include chipboard pennants, the same papers you see here, stamped images, baker's twine and white grosgrain ribbon to tie the book together. You will need to add your own sparkles and glitter glue. Kits are $5 + $5 for shipping USPS Priority mail. Please send me an email if you would like to purchase a kit. pssmitty@cox.net

Cards that don't need stamping!

Not everyone is a stamper, but even if you aren't, you can still make great handmade cards!
This card is made with vintage paper, a strip of cardstock that I scored and sanded, a piece of ribbon and a sticker! The "With Love" sentiment is a sticker from the My Stickease! It's mounted with foam tape.
Inside I've typed my own sentiment and printed it on light colored paper. To keep the vintage look I've trimmed all of the papers with a ragged edge and used the stubble brush to sponge. This will be my dad's Father's Day card. I'd like to thank my friend Lauren Kelly for finding the sentiment I used inside.

Country Banner

This is the new stamp set I just purchased and the FREE banner I received!
And this is the banner I created. The papers were all cut with the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. Texture has been added by using a B&T paper for the center pennant, stamping on the dark cocoa pennants and scoring the triangle pennants on the ends. When I stamped the images I just tore the edges instead of cutting them straight.  Foam tape was used to attach the stamped images to the pennants. I used one of my favorite texture tools  to ink the torn edges of the stamped images and the edges of the pennants. Here are the tools & embellishments to finish the banner.
The stubble brush adds a great look and when you finish your project just rinse the brush with warm water & let it dry.

Simple Thank You card & stamping tip

This simple card has a Kraft CS base, some scoring, two stamps & a button!
I used CTMH Cocoa pigment ink and stamped the flower on one of the papers from the Buzz & Bumble paper pack. The flower stamp is from the June SOM. The stamp set tells you to cut the flower with your CTMH Artiste cartridge at 2".
I'd like to share a tip for stamping on cut images; use a block that is bigger than the cut image you are stamping on so you can line the stamp up perfectly with the cut image.
