AHSC # 393 - Santa

This card was fun to make! The black circle behind Santa is dry embossed, Santa is colored with Tri-blend markers and a piece of shimmer trim was added.

I hope you'll be inspired to create something and share with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

AHSC #384 - textures

This sketch has lots of elements so it's fun to play with. I decided to combine several different papers for my card. I actually don't have as many layers as shown in the sketch but the kraft die cut, the burlap ribbon, the cut out flower and the dots and woodgrain prints all add interest.

I hope you'll enjoy creating something with this weeks sketch, here it is...

AHSC #383 - thinking of you

Peaches and cream colors mounted on gray are always one of my favorites! The shiny accents are copper foil tape and paper. This sketch has so many paper choice possibilities!

AHSC # 382 - you're the best

This is one of my favorite paper collections so I decided to use the diagonal stripe paper instead of creating a sunburst element. I think anytime you choose one of your favorite papers you will like the end result of your card!

AHSC # 381 - love you

This floral print caught my eye and seemed perfect for this sketch that I wanted to make a little fancy! I think right now is a good time to send someone a card to remind them they are loved.

AHSC #376

  • This is a stamp I've had for years and I never get tired of using it! I love working with black & white as it works for so many occasions. I think the yellow ribbon was the perfect pop of color.

I hope you'll be inspired to create something with the sketch this week....

AHSC # 375 - Birthday wishes

Beach theme cards are always fun to make and these papers seemed perfect for this sketch and a June birthday I needed a card for. When you've been a papercrafter for a long time family celebrations need a little extra inspiration so your creation won't always look the same, I like how this turned out and it was fun to make. The burlap ribbon is an element I added to my card because I thought it needed just a little something more.

Please take this weeks sketch and make something fun! & remember - you aren't limited to making just a card!

AHSC # 371 Happy Birthday

I kept this card very simple. I decided to leave the flower petals white and only color the center of the flower. This is a great sketch that can be used for simple or fancy creations.

I hope this week’s sketch will inspire you to create something you’ll share on the AHSC Blog.

AHSC # 369 - celebrating you

Yellow/Gold & Blue are a classic color combination I really like. The tag with the hearts was sitting on my table and seemed perfect for this sketch.

AHSC #368 - Courage

This was a fun card to do. I've used Canary cardstock for the background and stamped the flower with matching ink. Right now courage, strength, and happiness are so important but not always easy to maintain. I'm sending this card to my niece who is an amazing 1st grade teacher.

AHSC # 350 - Cardboard Art!

I have been making cardboard art again! This week's sketch was the inspiration for this piece. I've rotated the sketch to the portrait orientation and also added the rolled flowers on the left side. This is an 8 x 10 hanging. I covered a thin piece of cardboard with scrapbook paper to make this. My sentiment is a metal tag.
My cardboard art projects started about 7 years ago when my manager at work announced a holiday cubicle decorating contest and one of my co-workers was immediately disappointed because she was convinced I would win. So I went home and made several holiday cardboard pieces with hanging ribbons and went to work early one morning and hung them in her cubicle and in mine! I did not win the contest so my intent to understate my decorations was achieved & my wonderful co-worker and I both had decorations! Now I make these just for fun when I want something new and fun to hang on the wall!
