Time for an update!

I'm catching up on some of my scrapbooking & decided it's time to update my style! So I'm going to share some of my tips with you.
Mix your colors! Break up the background! Add some gold! Handwrite your journaling! Crop your photos to highlight what you want to stand out!

This layout was a lot of fun to do as I incorporated all of those tips. The tile art wall is mounted on green cardstock. The breakup of the background papers matches the backgrounds of my beach photos. The painted cow was actually in the background of the art wall picture until I cropped the photo, then I cropped it again to highlight the cow and mounted it on the gold trimmed tag. My journaling follows the page title by describing where the photos were taken and talking about our day.

In the 2nd page of my layout you'll notice I've highlighted the picture of my friend with the gold accent corners and I've mounted the photo on the page with foam tape so it stands out from the other photos.

AHSC #266

When I saw this sketch I knew I wanted to use this stamp set! Sometimes it's fun to stamp all of the elements from the sketch but it can leave your card feeling a little plain so I added the ribbon on the side.
Here is this week's sketch, I'll hope you'll decide to create something of your own...

AHSC #264 - Missing You

Well my placement of some of these pieces is a tiny bit off but I'll be sending this to my parents who live out of state and they will just love having a card from me it won't matter! I do always strive to do my best work when I publish on the AHSC blog, but overall I like this card!
Here is this week's sketch....I hope you'll decide to make something too.                                            Hugs, Patty

AHSC # 262 - Just for You

I fell in love with this panda bear stamp when I saw it then along came this sketch from AHSC and it seemed perfect! I used a leaf pattern embossing folder on the ring and inked it for a little more dimension. I hope you'll decide to join us this week by creating something with this fun sketch...

thanks! AHSC # 256

My card is a bit different from the sketch this week because these papers really spoke to me when I saw the sketch. I love using all the different pattern papers that coordinate and stamping on paper with some background interest just seems to add a little dimension to the finished card.

I hope you'll be inspired to join us this week at Atlantic Heart's Sketch Challenge, here's the sketch...

AHSC #252 Butterflies

I wanted to follow the sketch but also wanted something that looked a little different. I started with the butterflies, then choose the banner and background. Because I was still creating Valentine cards I started looking through my embellishments and found these in my gold foil assortment. I hope you'll decide to join the AHSC this week too. Here is the sketch...
