May Sampler... Artbooking, the f key

My May sampler is some of the cuts from the f key on CTMH Cricut Artbooking cartridge.
I made 8 cuts and got 14 usable pieces! There is also a 3 inch circle not pictured here.
And all of this is cut from one piece of 12 x 12 double sided paper. The f key has 2 complete layout designs but as you see here all of the cuts can be used without creating the layouts.
The border piece at the top left is 6 inches long, if you want a 12 inch border just cut 2 of these.
The inside of each photo frame cut can be used as a photo mount and the cut out heart banner can be enlarged and also used as a photo frame!

AHSC #105

The sentiment on this card is a vellum sticker. I put the sticker on a scrap of White Daisy CS and trimmed it then mounted with thin foam tape.

The textures on the card were created with some quick dry embossing. It's always fun to mix different textures!

What will it be?

I am still working on my next sampler for you - wonder what it will be? I am just back from  Spokane, WA where I visited my parents. Spring comes much later to the Northwestern US than it does to the Southwestern US! In fact I usually don't visit my parents in April! There's still that risk of snow! Past experiences in Philadelphia a few years back have taught me this California girl has no idea how you drive in snow except for the good graces of some strangers with big hearts!
So I am going to give you a raw preview of my May spring sampler...
So be sure you check back on May 1st to see what I create with these!

Mixed Media Paris

With images cut on my Cricut and a few embellishments I've created my first Paris mixed media. I say my first because this isn't exactly what I had visioned but it's close!
What I plan to do differently next time is to use some more cut images and do more stamping!
I think the area with the background stamping on the right side has much more dimension and interest than the background on the left side that doesn't have any background stamping.
Hanging on the wall the tiny dots of Stickles glitter actually do give the bit of sparkle I was looking for to give the twilight feel to the piece.

Lake Pleasant, AZ

To scrapbook this collection of pictures from the marina where we stayed I choose a frame overlay.

This overlay can be found on the CTMH Cricut Artbooking cartridge, key F. Using a frame overlay is an easy way to add several pictures to one layout.
And if you have a large photo that doesn't fit in one frame, use 2 frames! Like I did with the sail boat picture at the bottom right.
The empty frames show off the pretty scrapbook paper behind the frame and can be filled with journaling or embellished anyway you like. I used the CTMH Artisan Studs.

Mixed Media Framed Art

This is one of my favorite quotes from Maya Angelo. I am going to be creating more wall art and want to work on perfecting layered clusters of flowers, ribbons, chipboard and metals so this is my 1st attempt at that.I'll also be experimenting with various adhesives, if you make something to hang on the wall you want to be sure your pretty embellishments don't fall off! These clusters are attached with CTMH Liquid Glass. The ribbons on the sides are attached with double sided red tape, I've had varying results in the past with this.I sponged the background paper and the paper flowers so they would blend together.

Current Close to My Heart products used:

Designed Décor Colonial White Shadow Box

Seaside Paper Pack

Liquid Glass

Simple touches

This  layout was created with the new Jackson papers and complements. I used the zip strip from one of the papers and a complements sticker to create the journaling. To add a little interest and dimension  I scored the top and bottom edges of the base cardstock, tied a few knots with hemp, and mounted the sentiments with foam tape. These simple touches were all I needed to give the layout a completed look.
