This card is made with 2 stamp sets, the White Pines Cardmaking set and the December Stamp of the Month.

Planners Gonna Plan - 15% Savings!

This would make the perfect Christmas gift! And during December it's 15% off! Shop NOW!

To Inspire You!

This is artwork from the Close to My Heart corporate office using the December Stamp of the Month, Candlelight Garden. Most of us aren't going to add the machine stitching but without it this card would be just as pretty. They have used watercolor paints for the look of water in the jar and to color the flowers.

I plan to create some of my own cards with this stamp set over the next few days so check back to see what I create!

leftovers...

When I was doing a little bit of cleaning up I noticed these two pieces of paper on my table and thought I can use those! Here's what I've done....
I now have the base of a scrapbook layout! By trimming the piece the leaves were cut from and backing it with the glitter paper, then scallop punching the borders I was able to create this border accent. Now all I need to do is print a family picture taken yesterday and add my journaling block and my layout is complete.
TIP:  When you've enjoyed any event, large or small, that you know you are going to scrapbook, type out your story while you are waiting to print your pictures. The story of your day and the people you spent it with is really the most important part of your beautiful artwork.

AHSC # 135 - Congratulations Card

This past Saturday I attended the Southern California High School Band Competition and watched my nephew's school take 1st place! It was very exciting to watch their flawless performance on the field and I'm so glad I made the 2 hour drive to be with my family. This card is what I'm sending my nephew to remind him just how awesome I think he is! Congrats to Tommy and the Buena Ventura High School Band!

My inspiration for this card is from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge # 135...

Thanksgiving...

Thanksgiving will be here before we know it! I love the fall colors!

This framed piece was easy to create. Everything was cut on the Cricut and attached to the wire part of the frame with foam tape. That gives the leaves the appearance of floating & will make it easy to remove them when I get ready to create my next project in this frame.
TIP: If you are creating a cluster of flowers cut out a circle of cardstock to use as your base and glue the flowers to the base with Liquid Glass
This frame is available on my website.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge # 131

I want to start by saying I love this weeks sketch - but when I started to create my card I realized I needed to use less pieces! I hope you like what I've made, it truly was inspired by this week's Atlantic Hearts sketch...
Now go take a look at what everyone else has created this week!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #130

The sketch from Atlantic Hearts was a little challenging this week...
But I need to get started on my papercrafting for Thanksgiving so I got out the Sangria papers and my shimmer trims. And here is what I made...
The leaf border piece was cut on my Cricut Explore and I have a new tip for you! If you have the Explore you can cut a perfect background piece to fit behind your cut outs. Just use the contour button and click on on the little cutouts to make them disappear!
Now click here and see all the other great creations made with this week's sketch.

Handmade Giftwrap

I've wrapped this gift in plain kraft paper, tied a ribbon, added a tag and did a little stamping! Simple!

Celebrate!

Just the other day my friend Ann asked me when I was going to make a quilt again. Well that I'm not sure about... but this card is pieced sort of like a quilt! I started at the top with the scrap of embossed cardstock, then added the orange strip, next I cut the gray B&T to fit in the top right corner. I liked the checkered zip strip from the paper so I started the bottom row with that. The white square on the bottom right part of the card is plain white cardstock that I stamped with a background stamp. The crisscross strip next to it is also plain white cardstock that is stamped with the bottom part of a stamp that was 2 flower stems!
The black arrow piece on the card was punched. Then because the sizing of my borders was a little off I used the same punch to "fringe" the bottom of the black layer!
Making a one of a kind card is always fun, giving it away to someone is even better. Today is my nephew Phillip's birthday & this card was for him! Happy Birthday Phillip!

Halloween Treat Boxes!

These were a lot of fun to make! And cutting the boxes on my Cricut made them really easy!
If you have a Cricut Explore the image number is #M3EC3C, from the CTMH Artiste cartridge. The boxes you see here were cut 8" tall so I got just one box from each sheet of cardstock. If you'd like to get 2 boxes per 12 x 12 piece of cardstock cut the boxes 6.75 inches tall. Your machine will tell you that 1 box fits on a sheet. BUT! load your mat, cut the 1st box, unload the mat, turn it around and put it in the machine the other direction and the 2nd box will cut just fine! It's that easy!
My boxes are decorated with stamps and Cricut cuts. The Artiste cartridge has lots of fun Halloween shapes, jack-o-lanterns, skeletons, coffins, black cats, grave markers, spiders & spider webs too! So you can get as fancy as you'd like!

Roses - more Halloween fun!

seems that black roses are a little hard to photograph! But I took this wreath to work as part of my office decoration and so many people seem to be enjoying it!
Here is what inspired me...
This is the artwork on page 6 of the Holiday Expressions.

And the roses really are really easy to craft!

To start I cut a 10" ring for the wreath base. Then I cut a dozen 8" flowers using the image on the CTMH Cricut Artiste cartridge. You can find this image on page 54 of the Artiste handbook or if you have a Cricut Explore the cutting code is #M441CA.I rolled the flowers and varied the shape and size of each flower as I glued them. There are 3 CTMH tools that will make this task very easy, the Quilling tool, the All Purpose silicone mat, and Liquid Glass. When you finish rolling each flower, use the Liquid Glass to secure it and hold the shape in place in your hand for a few seconds. Then place the rose on the mat to dry, it won't stick & any excess glue just wipes right off the mat!

Have you seen the Nevermore Halloween paper collection?

Here is the first layout I've created...
There is a bit of glare in this photo because I've actually inserted the layout into the album page protector. I've done that to show you I created the layout so the banner will hang outside the page protector just to make it a little more fun.
The base page is a sheet for Whisper CS, then I added the zip strip from one of the B&T papers. I did some stamping, added some banner shaped pieces for color and shimmer trim for sparkle! The black photo mount is sized for a 4x6 photo.
My journaling block will be shaped like the banner pieces and placed under the photo.

The font on the banner is cut with the new CTMH Artistry cartridge.

Here's the Nevermore paper pack...

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #124

Thanks to the inspiration from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge my Halloween cards are done a little early this year! I was getting ready to do some Halloween crafting when I saw the new sketch! I love when my cards combine lots of different elements but are still simple. The pumpkin is a free download in Cricut Craft Room. The ghost was stamped and cut out. The strip of orange / black paper is from the Nevermore paper collection. The black sparkles are actually shimmer trim that I punched with a regular hole punch!
TIP: Anytime you are adding a plain shape like the pumpkin be sure you add a little shading by sponging the edges of the shape. And to give a little more dimension use foam tape to mount the shape on your card or layout.
Here is the link to the AHSC Blog and week #124 sketch.

AHSC #123

School picture time..........
The accent on the right of my layout was inspired by this week's Atlantic Heart's Sketch Challenge. I knew I wanted to scrapbook this picture of Lili and use the Paper Garden stamp set. I decided to use the sketch to create an accent on the page.

Here's this week's sketch for AHSC... click here to visit their blog

My 2015 - 2016 business planner

Are you wondering, "did she make that"? Yes I did! You've watched me cover journals for years, some I sell at craft shows some I give as gifts. But this one I made for me! Every year when CTMH releases the new Annual Inspirations catalog I grab a spiral notebook to start keeping track of ideas I want to try, blog posts, Facebook posts, business info and monthly campaigns.
Last week in Walmart I saw a notebook for $1.98 very similar to one of the new paper collections, I was almost ready to pay $1.98 when I saw a plain black notebook for 17 cents! So of course I bought the one for 17 cents!
With 2 sheets of paper from the La Vie En Rose collection, the end of a roll of black shimmer trim, a few pink Flamingo dots, and a couple cuts on the Cricut using the new Artistry cartridge I've got myself a pretty classy looking notebook!

Mixing the old and the NEW!

If you're thinking you've seen this somewhere you have! This is my version of the wreath on the cover of the New CTMH Annual Inspirations!
Four different flower petal cuts are used to create this project, 3 from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, and one from the New Artistry cartridge. The leaves are from the Artiste cartridge.
The base of the wreath is just a paper ring, you can buy chipboard rings but I just cut 2 rings out of White Daisy cardstock and glued them together.
For my flowers I cut some of the petals from the old Smokey Plum color CS and some from the new Eggplant color CS. I did all of the sponging with Eggplant Ink.
I recommend using Liquid Glass for this project.

Make it your own...

First of all, my apologies for the glare on this photo. What I want to share here with you is the idea of using stamps, ink & paper to create framed artwork. In a couple days I'll be sharing the brand new Annual Inspiration Idea Book with you. I was inspired by one of the projects in the new Annual Inspirations to create this framed piece for my sister-in-law for her birthday last week. Sometimes the simplest projects can make a nice piece of art!
The stamp set used here is C1559 Always Grateful.

Sunset in the Pines - AHSC #120

4th of July weekend Doug & I went camping with Annie and I'm just starting to get our pictures scrap-booked. The AHSC sketch this week and the CTMH Fundamentals papers were the perfect inspiration for this layout.
Here's this week's sketch - & there's still time for you to create something too!

Adorable!

All this layout took was 2 sheets of paper and 2 Cricut cuts!

I printed the photo 8x8, cut the scallop frame on the Cricut Explore @ 9.4 then cut the title to fit in the shadow created by the bench the kids are sitting on, then I printed a quick journaling tag with the place and date the picture was taken. It was that easy!

fun day ~ AHSC #119

This picture of my little niece Peyton and her Noni has been sitting on my table with the piece of Zoe paper just waiting for the right inspiration! So when I saw the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week I realized "that will work"!
And the Zoe WOTG stamp set was perfect for my layout title! Before I put this in the album I'll add a personal journaling note for Peyton to tell her how much her Noni loves the beach!
Here's this week's sketch....
Now go visit the AHSC blog and see what everyone else has created!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #118

I've chosen one of the new Zoe papers, the new Coral Shimmer Trim and the August Stamp of the month Framed for this card. I really love simple designs that are so versatile.

Anytime I'm in a rush to get a card made because I need one right now I take a look at what is on my table, then scan a few blogs for a design that will work with what's handy. The AHSC blog is one I often look to for inspiration. Here is this week's sketch. There is still time to make your own card for the challenge. And it doesn't have to be a card!

AHSC #115

This stamp set has been sitting on my table just waiting for the right design! And I think it's perfect for this sketch. To add some sparkle I punched a piece of glitter paper with a tiny punch and put some liquid glass in the center of the flower to hold the tiny dots.
Here is the sketch for this week's AHSC. Be sure you visit their blog!

CTMH Cricut Artbooking & Independence Day

Independence Day has always been one of my favorite holidays. What could be better than celebrating America's Birthday!
I really like how my cards turned out this year. All of these cuts were done with the J key on the CTMH Artbooking cartridge. I used the stripes embossing folder and white daisy cardstock for the background and was surprised when I saw the added texture in the stripes.
Wishing you a Happy 4th of July! Celebrate, have fun & stay safe!

Easy Canvas Art

I want to give Lili a picture of her most recent accomplishment to hang on her wall. This canvas art was so simple to create. I used a 6x6 canvas, the Sunset Fundamentals paper and  a piece of jute ribbon and turned a 4x6 photo into wall art in just a few minutes!
Congratulations Lili!

As I've mentioned before, my family posts all of their pictures on Facebook, this photo actually had a tiny bit of another child in the background. So besides adding a decorator touch to the canvas the jute ribbon covers up that part of the picture I didn't want!

All products are from Close to My Heart.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #113

I'm sending a small package to my niece Lili and one of her surprises is a paperback book. When I have small gifts I like to craft a special tag or gift wrap. I will wrap the book in kraft wrapping paper and this will be the tag on the front. My message to Lili will be on the back of the tag.
This was quick to craft with the use of a couple punches, an embossing folder and a new roll of washi tape! For sparkle the butterfly is punched from a small scrap of glitter paper.
And here is the week 113 AHSC sketch...
