AHSC #296 Black & White

The perfect storm for card making occurred today! I'm off work, had time to browse Pinterest, got inspired by the AH Sketch and need to have Thank You card ready to send. As I make the transition from the world of wonderful browns to the gray pallet I'm finding I like the black & white look and the silver thread adds a nice sparkle without adding bulk to my cards.
I hope you too will be inspired to join the Atlantic Heart's Sketch Challenge this week....

Time for an update!

I'm catching up on some of my scrapbooking & decided it's time to update my style! So I'm going to share some of my tips with you.
Mix your colors! Break up the background! Add some gold! Handwrite your journaling! Crop your photos to highlight what you want to stand out!

This layout was a lot of fun to do as I incorporated all of those tips. The tile art wall is mounted on green cardstock. The breakup of the background papers matches the backgrounds of my beach photos. The painted cow was actually in the background of the art wall picture until I cropped the photo, then I cropped it again to highlight the cow and mounted it on the gold trimmed tag. My journaling follows the page title by describing where the photos were taken and talking about our day.

In the 2nd page of my layout you'll notice I've highlighted the picture of my friend with the gold accent corners and I've mounted the photo on the page with foam tape so it stands out from the other photos.

AHSC # 262 - Just for You

I fell in love with this panda bear stamp when I saw it then along came this sketch from AHSC and it seemed perfect! I used a leaf pattern embossing folder on the ring and inked it for a little more dimension. I hope you'll decide to join us this week by creating something with this fun sketch...

Celebrating Atlantic Heart's Sketch Challenge #250!

I  really love this week's sketch! Any kind of card is possible, something soft and pretty, or something bold. My card is going to be a valentine. I choose thin strands of silver twine and punched a scalloped silver foil circle to mount my glitter heart on.
I sure hope you will be inspired by this sketch and join us at AHSC this week. Your creation does not need to be a card, anything that follows the sketch is welcome.

Here is the sketch...

AHSC # 248 Happy Thoughts

My card uses both stamps and stickers this week. But it could have been a bit more colorful! I so hope you'll visit the AHSC blog to see what everyone else has created with this week's sketch.

Love Letters from Close to My Heart!

These kits are so much fun to make! To display my letter I painted the edges of a white 12 x12 canvas with Rose Gold paint then covered the front of the canvas with Espresso cardstock and added a half frame of rose gold foil tape. I used all of the flowers in the kit. These kits are available through Jan 31st on my website. See the video below for easy how to steps!
