CTMH Cricut Artbooking & Independence Day

Independence Day has always been one of my favorite holidays. What could be better than celebrating America's Birthday!
I really like how my cards turned out this year. All of these cuts were done with the J key on the CTMH Artbooking cartridge. I used the stripes embossing folder and white daisy cardstock for the background and was surprised when I saw the added texture in the stripes.
Wishing you a Happy 4th of July! Celebrate, have fun & stay safe!

Easy Canvas Art

I want to give Lili a picture of her most recent accomplishment to hang on her wall. This canvas art was so simple to create. I used a 6x6 canvas, the Sunset Fundamentals paper and  a piece of jute ribbon and turned a 4x6 photo into wall art in just a few minutes!
Congratulations Lili!

As I've mentioned before, my family posts all of their pictures on Facebook, this photo actually had a tiny bit of another child in the background. So besides adding a decorator touch to the canvas the jute ribbon covers up that part of the picture I didn't want!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #113

I'm sending a small package to my niece Lili and one of her surprises is a paperback book. When I have small gifts I like to craft a special tag or gift wrap. I will wrap the book in kraft wrapping paper and this will be the tag on the front. My message to Lili will be on the back of the tag.
This was quick to craft with the use of a couple punches, an embossing folder and a new roll of washi tape! For sparkle the butterfly is punched from a small scrap of glitter paper.

Just a side note....

Late this afternoon I had a surprise visit from the 3 kids you see in the post below! They weren't here long before they made their way into my craft room for a look around. They asked me if they could make cards for their dad, and of course I said yes! I think we should all spend some craft time with kids - they just want to make something special and they want to choose the papers and do the stamping themselves - they aren't afraid of making mistakes. And they love washi tape!
I hope you have an opportunity to craft with a kid - I'm sure you will have a great time!
And if you are making dinner for them I suggest spaghetti!

Smiles!

I love stamps that tell a story on a scrapbook page & this one is perfect! These are my young nephews Soren and Jeremy and my niece Evelyn - three of the happiest kids I know!

This stamp is also great for the front of a card or the sentiment inside...
For the layout I decided to trim around the stamped image. For the card I cut the stamped image square, did a little coloring with alcohol markers and mounted it on a piece of black cardstock.

This is a single stamp from Close to My Heart called Smiles Begin with You A1172

Wanderful...AHSC #111 .... take 2!

I love all the directional elements of this paper, stamp and washi tape and thought they might make a good inspirational card!
This card is my 2nd submission for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #111.

Treasured Friends ~ AHSC # 111

My entry for this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge....
Image is form Treasured Friends stamp set.
Behind the punched strip is a piece of shimmer trim to give some sparkle.
I sand distressed the edges of the papers to give a little more "beachy" feel to the card.
Here's the sketch for this week, click the link above to see what everyone else creates!
