Kraft & Dotty for You 6 x 6 Mini Album

I had so much fun making this mini album! I started with one of the Kraft Die Cut cards, cut some Kraft cardstock for the pages, cut the Dotty for You papers to line the pages and finished it all with a magnetic closure. And this is what it looks like....

If you'd like to make one of these albums you will need Z1474 Kraft Die Cut cards, Z1375 Kraft Cardstock, Z1702 Bakers Twine,  Z1338 Sunset Mini Medley Accents and a magnetic closure. And here is a picture to get you started with the cutting and assembly. I like to use the Tombo Mono liquid glue when I work with Kraft CS because it holds well, can be applied in a thin line & dries fast.

Kits are $12 and include:
  • All the cardstock pieces pre-cut and pre-scored (Kraft CS & Dotty for You)
  • 1 yard of Bakers Twine and a button
  • 1 magnetic closure
  • Detailed Instructions
  • Priority Mailing to any US address
Please contact me if you'd like to purchase a kit.

Dotty for You & Cricut Art Philosophy

This is the layout I created with the new Dotty for You papers. This picture of me and my friend Patty was taken at the park and I wanted to create a layout with the yellows, greens and browns in the picture. It was so easy with the yellow and green poke-a-dot papers. And even more fun than these great papers was cutting all of the shapes you see here with the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge! The White Daisy cardstock adds just the right "pop" to the layout. The journaling was completed with the handwritten tag that has the place and date the photo was taken. Buttons from the Basic Assortment (Z1358), ribbon from the Cocoa Collection (Z1316) and bitty pearls from the Mocha Opaques (Z1333) completed the embellishments.
The Dotty for You paper collection is being offered to celebrate May  National Scrapbooking Month and is available now through May 31st. There are 24 two-sided cardstock papers in the pack and a project guide. The paperpack has a $19.95 value but is only $5 when you place an order totaling just $35. Go to my website to see more details and lots of ideas for using these great papers.

A card for Dad!

This was the card I made my dad last month for his birthday but you can use this as a Father's Day card too. These papers are from the Crusin' paper pack. The scrabble letter tiles are the other side of the argyle paper! How cool is that! The letters are mounted on the Milepost corrugated chipboard shapes. I sponged the shapes with black ink using an ink dauber. If you decide to make this card I would suggest placing the t and o closer together.

Recipes & Family Traditions!

My sister-in-law & I started a tradition of collecting recipes for her daughters when they get married. We send out requests to family and friends that include 4 x 6 recipe cards and ask them to bring their recipes to the bridal shower where we put them in the recipe box and present them to the bride to be. I have created a retro looking recipe box for Shannon using the new Cruzin' papers and the CTMH Recipe Box. The CTMH Bonding Memories glue is perfect for a project like this. It sticks well to the chipboard recipe box and prevents loose edges. You will want to color all of the edges of the box before you adhere the papers. I decided to paint the edges with Create-a-Shade paint that I tinted with Grey Flannel re-inker. This gave a shinny chrome look to the box edges. Be sure to let the paint dry completely before you attach the papers. I used a flower vase on top of a coffee mug to create a stand for drying as you can see here.

Heart2Heart April Sketch Challenge

This week I decided to participate in the H2H sketch challenge.

This card uses one of my favorite new papers from the Florentine paper pack and one of my favorite new stamp sets Enjoy. The border in the middle of the card was created with the zip strip from this sheet of paper with a piece of narrow cocoa satin ribbon added on top. The paper flower and the with love image are "painted" with a tiny bit of Glitz Bronz glitter glue. This adds just the right sparkle!
This is the sketch provided, now it's your turn!

Journaling..

Journaling is so important to our scrapbook pages but it can be simple with just some basic facts. Ask yourself, when someone looks at this layout what are they going to want to know? So tell them who is in the pictures, where the pictures were taken and when. This journaling block you see here was created by typing the text and printing it on cardstock. The stamping I added completes the journaling block and shares my sentiments about my family.  Stamping is a great way to add journaling to your pages.
The stamp set I used here is Family Love, D1506 and it has 5 other sentiments and 3 more decorative elements.

Happy Easter!

Making cards with kids is so much fun! This is my niece who is 8 and my nephews who are 3 and 6. This is the first time we have made cards together. We used some fun stickers, wrote with markers, punched out some ducks & flowers and did some stamping. They were so excited to choose the stickers & stamps & papers! I know I have started a new tradition with them and it will bring joy to all of us. Sorry they won't show the cards but they want them to be a surprise for their parents!
