Sometimes a birthday card becomes a book!

This week my nephew Jason celebrated his 21st birthday. Sensing this may be my last chance to be sure I've shared all the wisdom and encouragement I want him to always remember I decided to make him a little book. By design there are 21 pages. These are the times I'm grateful for my stash of stamps I've accumulated over the past 11 years!
From now until Feb there will be 3 more young birthdays ranging in age from 12 to 19, this book was so much fun to do I'm going to make one for the other 3 kids too!
My cover was inspired by this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch and was the perfect design. I left the chipboard "raw" for the casual guy look I wanted and choose the red stripe paper since red has always been Jason's favorite color.
Happy 21st Jason!
Hugs,
Aunt Patty

AHSC 232

I really love the sketch this week so I decided to follow it exactly. In my stamp stash I found a border stamp that matched perfectly. I used the shamrock on the Flower Market cartridge but only cut the pop up leaves. I cut them from the new 2 tone cardstock so I could layer them for the alternate dark / light effect. To finish it off I punch a circle from silver foil paper and stamped my sentiment.

I hope you will be inspired to join this week's AHSC, here is the sketch...
